Damian Kapojos

In close collaboration with choreographer Aymeric Aude (Introdans) and curator Wim van der Beek, I have performed a dance-battle during the exhibition Beauty of the Battle at CODA Museum in Apeldoorn. 

Together with dancer Filippo Buonamassa, I performed in front of a gigantic sculpture, which

I created especially for this exhibition. The performance is an extension of my sculptures, exploring the contrasts between violence and tenderness, male and female, struggle and contemplation and my Indonesian and Dutch roots. We create a new and very personal multidisciplinair artform, combining three of my talents; sculpture, martial-arts and dance.

I regard the performance at CODA Museum as a try out. I continue to perfect and to broaden this project,  looking for collabortions with muscicians, dancers, athletes, film-makers and shifting this new artform into the theaters and on to other platforms
